促黃體生成素（LH）是由垂體前葉的促性腺激素細(xì)胞合成的一種糖蛋白，可促進(jìn)膽固醇在性腺細(xì)胞內(nèi)轉(zhuǎn)化為性激素。對(duì)于女性，促黃體生成素會(huì)刺激卵巢釋放卵子，它的周期性的極速上升導(dǎo)致每月的排卵的發(fā)生；對(duì)于男性，促黃體生成素刺激睪丸間質(zhì)細(xì)胞合成睪丸素。顆粒細(xì)胞的黃體化與細(xì)胞增大和黃體酮生成增加有關(guān)，顆粒細(xì)胞與卵巢中發(fā)育的配子（卵子）密切相關(guān)。
